James is an exceptional clinician whose unparalleled expertise and remarkable achievements set him apart in the field. A multiple Irish team member, he has represented his country with distinction, including having two dogs on the team simultaneously. With over 100 open wins and multiple double gather championships, his track record is extraordinary. James was the 2013 Irish National Champion, the 2014 Double Gather Champion, and the 2014 BBC TV program One Man and His Dog Champion, a title he impressively reclaimed in 2017—making him the only person to win it twice. In 2016, he was both the Irish National Champion and Reserve International Champion. His consistency is reflected in subsequent accolades, including being the 2018 Reserve Irish National Champion, the 2020 Nursery Champion, the 2023 Reserve Nursery Champion, and the 2023 Reserve Irish National Champion. Most recently, James demonstrated his prowess on the world stage, finishing 2nd in the semi-finals and 4th overall at the 2023 World Trial with his exceptional dog, Sky. His vast experience, combined with his personable teaching style, sheep sense, and ability to adapt his methods to various skill levels, makes him an inspiring and highly effective clinician.
